Hawkins Cookers Ltd, the Indian manufacturer of cookers and cookwares, held 43.97% of public shareholding and 56.03% of promoter and promoter group shareholding in December 2019 quarter as well as in March 2020 quarter. The trends for public shareholding during the consecutive quarters of December’19 and March’20 are as follows:
Increase in public shareholding % – Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund stepped up to 4.98% from 4.97%. Foreign Portfolio Investors‘ holdings expanded from 0.25% to 0.34%. The no. of shareholders grew from 3 to 5 for Individual share capital in excess of Rs. 2 Lacs along with the stake enlarging from 1.87% to 3.46%. Bodies Corporate went from 0.45% to 0.47%.
Decrease in public shareholding % – SBI Funds reduced its stake to 8.94% from 9.64%. Alternate Investment Funds dipped down to 0.72% from 1.23%. The no. of shareholders with Individual share capital up to Rs. 2 Lacs went up from 12276 to 13676 but the holdings lessened from 20.79% to 20.33%. HUF decreased to 1.37% from 1.39%. The no. of Non-Resident Indian (NRI) shareholders extended to 714 from 538 while the shareholding % lowered to 1.22% from 1.25%. Director or Director’s Relatives held 0.76% of the shares in December which decreased to 0.71%.
Unaltered public shareholding % – Financial Institutions/ Banks (0.01%), Central Government/ State Government(s)/ President of India (0.00%), NBFCs registered with RBI (0.47%), Employee Trusts (0.00%), IEPF (0.84%), Trusts (0.01%), Foreign Nationals (0.00%), Foreign Portfolio Investor (Category – III) (0.00%) and Clearing Members (0.05) held identical stakes in December 2019 quarter and March 2020 quarter.
Even though, the public (43.97%) and the promoter & promoter group (56.03%) holding % remain unchanged in both the quarters, there is a change in the no. of total shareholders in the public category. The no. increased from 13,358 to 14,989. The promoter & promoter group maintain the no. of shareholders (12).
