SBI funds grew the bet to 1.14% in Britannia | Jun’20 qtr

A part of Wadia group, Britannia Industries Limited is a FMCG company manufacturing and marketing various food products in India. From March 2020 quarter to June 2020 quarter, the holdings through the promoters reduced from 50.63% to 50.61% and that through the public grew from 49.37% to 49.39%. The changes in the public shareholding patterns of the two quarters, are as follows:

Increase in shareholdings % – Mutual Funds grew the stakes from 4.99% to 6.07%. SBI funds up-stepped from 1.12% to 1.14%. Trusts up-stepped the holdings from 1.05% to 1.08%. Clearing Members grew the parts from 0.19% to 0.23%. Qualified Institutional Buyers incremented the value from 1.89% to 3.30%.

Decrease in shareholdings % – Alternate Investment Funds reported a reduction in value from 0.32% to 0.23%. Foreign Portfolio Investors lowered their parts from 14.71% to 14.67%. Financial Institutions/ Banks reduced the bet from 0.31% to 0.22%. Insurance Companies decremented the stakes from 7.75% to 6.13%. GENERAL INSURANCE CORPORATION OF INDIA down-stepped from 1.07% to 1.04%. LIFE INSURANCE CORPORATION OF INDIA decreased the bet from 6.06% to 4.59%. Individuals with share capital up to Rs. 2 Lacs lessened their holdings from 13.55% to 13.17%. NRI NON-REPATRIATION decremented the bet from 1.18% to 1.16%. Bodies Corporate shrunk the values from 1.16% to 0.78%.

Identical shareholdings % in both the quarters- ARISAIG INDIA FUND LIMITED at 1.09%; Central Government/ State Government(s)/ President of India at 0.00%; Individuals with share capital in excess than Rs. 2 Lacs at 1.80%; NBFCs registered with RBI at 0.02; Non-Resident Indians (NRI) at 0.23%; IEPF at 0.21%.

Shareholders, which entered the pattern or rose above 1.00% in June quarter- KOTAK INDIA GROWTH FUND at 1.24% and ICICI PRUDENTIAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED at 1.20%.

The total number of shareholders reduced from 1,83,388 to 1,82,120.
