Reliance Capital Trustee dropped to 1.29% in Sun Pharma | Mar’20 qtr

Started with just 5 products on psychiatry ailments, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, now manufactures and sells its pharma products in India and the USA. In December 2019 quarter, it had 45.44% of public shareholdings and 54.56% of promoter and promoter group holdings. In March 2020 quarter, the public values dropped to 45.31% and that of promoters climbed up to 54.69%. On comparison of the public shareholding patterns of both the quarters, the following changes were observed:

Increase in shareholding % – The Mutual Funds grew the stakes from 10.60% to 10.77%. ICICI Prudential Value Discovery Fund and various Fund Accounts up-stepped the values from 3.43% to 3.46%. The Alternate Investment Funds reported with slight increase of 0.02%- from 0.06% to 0.08% The Insurance Companies rose the holdings from 7.39% to 7.71%. The Life Insurance Corporation of India and its various Funds extended the bet from 6.17% to 6.37%. The number of shareholders having Individual share capital up to Rs. 2 Lacs widened from 5,69,938 to 5,98,230; the holdings up-stepped from 6.22% to 6.23%. Similarly, the value of Individuals with share capital in excess of Rs. 2 Lacs went from 1.32% to 1.47%. The Trusts climbed up from 0.69% to 0.71%. The HUF stepped up from 0.21% to 0.22%. The Clearing Members increased the bet from 0.04% to 0.12%. The Bodies Corporate rose the value from 3.41% to 3.63%.

Decrease in shareholding % – Reliance Capital Trustee Co Ltd. A/C Nippon India Arbitrage Fund and various Fund Accounts reduced the parts from 1.32% to 1.29%. The Foreign Portfolio Investors decremented the stakes from 13.89% to 12.81%. The Financial Institutions/ Banks down-stepped from 0.84% to 0.83%. UTI and its Schemes and Funds decreased the holdings from 0.18% to 0.17%. The Director or Director’s Relatives lowered the stakes from 0.13% to 0.11%. Lakshdeep Investments & Finance (P) Ltd lessened from 1.33% to 1.31%.

Unaltered shareholding % – Central Government/ State Government(s)/ President of India at 0.00%, IEPF at 0.05% and Non-Resident Indians (NRI) at 0.40% maintained identical holdings in both the consecutive quarters of Dec’19 to Mar’20.

SBI-ETF Nifty 50 and various Fund Accounts and HDFC Trustee Company Ltd. A/C HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund and various Fund Accounts might have heightened above 1.00% or have entered new in March’20 quarter at 1.06% to 1.01% respectively. The total number of public shareholders grew from 6,02,380 to 6,31,205.
