Navneet Education Limited is a book publishing company with its headquarters in Maharashtra, India. It manufactures stationary products as well as educational books. In December 2019 quarter, 37.86% of the company’s shares came through the public shareholders, while 62.14% came through the promoters. In March 2020 quarter, public shares percentage became 37.62%, while that of the promoters was at 62.38%. The differences in the public shareholding pattern for the quarters of Dec’19 and Mar’20 show trends like increase, decrease and equality in holdings percentage; the observations were as follows:
Increase in shareholding % – The Alternate Investment Funds reported a rise from 0.54% to 0.91%. Shareholders’ count grew from 27237 to 27911 for Individual share capital up to Rs. 2 Lacs; the percentage rose from 10.75% to 10.95%. HUF up-stepped its stakes from 0.60% to 0.62%. The Clearing Members extended the bet from 0.03% to 0.15%. The Bodies Corporate climbed up from 1.92% to 2.10%.
Decrease in shareholding % – The Mutual Funds showed an overall decrease in the shares from 16.39% to 15.73%. Kotak Mutual Fund – Through its Various Scheme reduced from 1.57% to 1.49%. The Foreign Portfolio Investors appeared with a lowering in holdings from 4.22% to 3.87%. The count of individuals with Individual share capital in excess of Rs. 2 Lacs stepped down from 23 to 22 and their holdings lessened from 2.62% to 2.52%.
Identical shareholding % – HDFC Mutual Fund – Through its Various Scheme at 8.74%, Franklin India Smaller Companies Fund at 4.88%, Somerset Emerging Markets Small Cap Fund LLC at 1.39%, the Financial Institutions/ Banks at 0.03%, the Central Government/ State Government(s)/ President of India at 0.00%, IEPF at 0.18%, the Trusts at 0.00%, the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) at 0.55%, Director or Director’s Relatives at 0.00% and the Office Bearers at 0.01% held the percentage, identical to the previous quarter of Dec’19.
The number of public shareholders widened from 29,151 to 29,874. The number of promoters were constant at 55. In the promoters’ group, the Shaan Realtors Private Limited elevated their investment from 0.08% to 0.31%. The other promoters include- the Gala, Shah, Sampat, Savla, Mehta, Andani and Bhatia family members.
