The Phoenix Mills Limited is India’s largest mall(retail) developing and operating company, with its presence in 6 major cities in the country. In Dec’19 quarter, the company had 59.14% and 40.86% of the holdings through promoters and public respectively. In Mar’20 quarter, the values through promoters reduced to 59.11% and that through public grew to 40.89%. The changes observed in the patterns of public shareholding of the two quarters (December 2019 and March 2020), are as follows:
Increase in shareholding % – The collective percentage from all the Mutual Funds incremented from 8.03% to 9.88%. ICICI Prudential fund rose the stakes from 1.63% to 1.80%. UTI- Value Opportunities Fund increased the bet from 1.51% to 1.57%. Reliance Capital Trustee Co Ltd upgraded the parts from 1.24% to 1.27%. Insurance Companies grew the value from 0.08% to 0.20%. Holdings of Individuals with share capital up to Rs. 2 Lacs up-stepped from 2.14% to 2.19%. The Clearing Members stretched their part from 0.01% to 0.11%.
Decrease in shareholding % – DSP Midcap Fund down-stepped the parts from 1.77% to 1.75%. Alternate Investment Funds reported a dip from 1.05% to 0.79%. Foreign Portfolio Investors appeared with a reduction in holding from 27.53% to 25.74%. Nordea 1 Sicav- Emerging Star Equity Fund lowered the stakes from 3.47% to 3.23%. Fidelity Investment Trust Fidelity Series Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund contracted their bet from 1.93% to 1.86%. The non-resident Indians (NRI) decremented the value from 0.10% to 0.08%.
Shareholders with Unaltered shareholding % – VanEck Funds- Emerging Markets Fund at 1.29%, Financial Institutions/ Banks at 0.02%, Central Government/ State Government(s)/ President of India at 0.00%, Individuals having share capital in excess than Rs. 2 Lacs at 0.12%, IEPF at 0.58%, Trusts at 0.01%, HUF at 0.04%, Director or Director’s Relatives at 0.05%, and Bodies Corporate at 1.06%.
Schroder International Selection Fund Emerging Asia might have exited or sunk below 1.00% to disappear in the March’20 quarter; it was at 1.49% in the December’19 quarter. The number of public shareholders widened from 12,555 to 14,324.
