Nilkamal Ltd. is one of the largest manufacturers of moulded plastic furniture and owns other multiple businesses. It witnessed, 35.69% of public shareholding and 64.31% of promoter and promoter group shareholding, as of March 2020 quarter. On comparison of the public shareholding pattern of December 2019 quarter and March 2020 quarter, following trends were observed:
Increase in public shareholding % – Overall Mutual Funds escalated from 15.70% to 16.87%. DSP Small Cap Fund climbed up from 6.69% to 7.09%. HDFC Small Cap Fund incremented its stake from 6.61% to 7.04%. Kotak Small Cap Fund elevated its position from 1.79% to 2.21%. Foreign Portfolio Investors furthered from 1.62% to 2.12%.
Decrease in public shareholding % – The no. of shareholders with Individual share capital upto Rs. 2 Lacs reduced from 23,364 to 21,448 along with the holdings- 12.16% in Dec’19 to 11.25% in Mar’20. The no. of shareholders with Individual share capital in excess of Rs. 2 Lacs went from 9 to 7 and holdings % subsided from 2.66% to 2.00%. HUF lowered from 0.46% to 0.41%. The Non-Resident Indian (NRI) held 0.88% of shares and stepped down at 0.86%. Bodies Corporate sunk down from 2.15% to 1.75%.
Uniformity in public shareholding % – Financial Institutions/ Banks (0.04%), Central Government/ State Government(s)/ President of India (0.00%), Non-Institutions (0.00%), NBFCs registered with RBI (0.09%), IEPF (0.24%), Trusts (0.00%) and Clearing Members (0.05%) were composed at their respective positions, as in the December 2019 quarter.
Alternate Investment Funds‘ stakes were not observed in Dec’19 quarter but appeared in the Mar’20 quarter with 0.01%. The public shareholding % in December quarter was 36.03% which lessened to 35.69% in March quarter; while the promoter and promoter group held 63.97% in Dec’19 quarter, which increased in the latter quarter to 64.31%. In the promoter and promoter group category, the Individuals/Hindu undivided Family held 48.04% in the former quarter and rose to 48.39% in the latter. The no. of public shareholders went down from 25,056 to 22,994. The promoter and its group had maintained the number of shareholders to 17. The groups- Nilkamal Builders Private Limited, Heirloom Finance Private Limited and Shrimant Holding Private Limited collectively held about 15.93% in both the quarters.
